Permanently transparent polyamides

Evonik's TROGAMID^® product group includes base polymers and molding compounds that are distinguished particularly by permanent transparency and high chemical resistance. The T series comprises all compounds based on polyamide 6-3-T. Specialty transparent polyamide grades are designated CX, referring to the microcrystallinity of the products.

Thanks to systematic selection of monomers TROGAMID^® CX is a crystallizable and permanently transparent polyamide. The crystallites are so small that they do not scatter visible light. The material thus appears transparent to the human eye, a property known as microcrystallinity.more

Low shrinkage

The chemical constitution of TROGAMID^® T, which is produced from terephthalic acid and 2,2,4- /2,4,4-trimethylhexamethylene diamine, gives the polymer its amorphous structure. In contrast to Evonik's semicrystalline high-performance polymers, it is transparent. Moreover, the amorphous structure results in low processing shrinkage and little tendency to warp.more
